My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord finds the Rite Two text of the Magnificat anima mea or Song of Mary as found in The Book of Common Prayer, 1979, set to festive accompaniment.  Although it is scored for SATB, the beginning text which is decidedly Marian in nature is sung only by the women of the choir.  The men join in beginning with “He has shown the strength of His arm…” From there it builds to a stunning conclusion.
